On the 25th of September, the City of Cape Town proudly hosted the opening Pelican Park CDC a brand new health facility in Pelican Park. Addressing an urgent need in the community for health services, this new facility has dedicated services addressing a wide range of primary health care issues including adolescent health needs.
The City of Cape Town has invested in building Pelican Park CDC, and the involvement of the community throughout the process of this project was the driving force behind planning and building this state of the art facility.
Esteemed speakers, such as the Mayor of Cape Town, Alderman Dan Plato, and the MEC of Health, Minister Nomafrench Mbombo, addressed the community and other guests at the historic opening.
Their message to the community of Pelican Park was clear: Pelican Park CDC belongs to the community and community stakeholders were encouraged to assist with growing Pelican Park CDC into a first rate health care facility.
